MLB Mid-Season Fantasy Awards AL Cy Young: Chris Sale While there may be some more qualified candidates for the real Cy Young this season in the American League, White Sox ace Chris Sale has been the most dominant when it comes to getting fantasy points. 8-4 with a 2.72 ERA this season, Sale’s ability to […]
Marashiro Tanaka – He has finally returned to form after a few bad starts to begin the year. He has really picked up the velocity to go with his great breaking ball, and has been striking guys out a good clip.
This is a super difficult day to pick pitchers, because there isn’t that stud going. I do believe that Garrett Richards is the best of the bunch today, and is the way to go for cash games. His last start was a complete disaster where he only pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up 6 ER. Before that game though, he had a 3.26 ERA and had been pitching pretty well all year long.
I really hope that Bauer does not disappoint like Corey Kluber did last night. Kluber pitched a good game, but for fantasy purposes it wasn’t good for his price. Bauer is one for studs on the Indians rotation, and tomorrow I expect a great game.
There are a lot of good pitchers going today, but Kluber stands out from the pack. He has the best matchup in my opinion, and has been great in his last 5 starts. In those starts, he has 40 IP 31 hits allowed, 3 walks, and 59 strikeouts. He is averaging 1.5 strikeouts per inning in those starts, and that’s with Kansas City and the Cardinals being a part of those stats. He has a little bit higher ERA than most of the other studs at 3.61, but that was due to a three start stretch in early May.
