Highlights and Analysis of Week 1 of the NFL season. Injury Reports, Who to target, Predictions and much more on this week’s episode of Weekly Fantasy Fix!
Drew Brees vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers $8900
Brees has a favorable matchup Week 2 at home versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs gave up nearly 25.5 points in their Week 1 matchup to rookie Quarterback Marcus Mariota. Drew Brees now has an opportunity to put up some numbers with an offense that still remains one of the best in the league. Brees completed passes to 8 different receivers in Week 1. Rookie receiver Brandon Coleman excelled as a secondary option to Drew Brees against a solid Arizona secondary. Brandon Cooks is sure to bounce back after being shadowed by Patrick Peterson. Add this to what Mark Ingram displayed within the passing game, and Drew Brees can be considered a top QB going up against Tampa Bay.
Chris Long – DE ($4500) – I think that Long is very underpriced and could easily have a great game against the Redskins in Week 2. I know that Washington has Trent Williams at LT, but again with the Rams defense he will rarely receive any help, and I am sure that Robert Quinn will be getting some run against Williams as well. Now he is coming off of an injury riddled season last year, but in previous seasons, he averaged 2-3 tackles per game and about 9-10 sacks per season. A big reason why I like him also is the fact that I think that Washington will be losing meaning Long will get lots of pass rushing opportunities, and when Washington does run the ball, they will be running to the edge to avoid Donald and Brockers who just clog up the middle. He may be a bit of a risk, but if Long can get going, his price will almost certainly rise.
