Top Fantasy Football Value WRs to Target in 2015:
It’s never too early to start thinking about players to target in fantasy football. We will be breaking down each position and picking some of our favorite value/breakout players to target for this upcoming fantasy football season.
Here we highlight the next up and coming WR1 or high end WR2. We won’t be highlighting the typical Antonio Brown, Calvin Johnson, Odell Beckham Jr., etc. since you really can’t go wrong with any of these WRs.
DeAndre “Nuke Hopkins: No Andre Johnson (146 targets gone), No Quarterback? We believe there are some risks here, but if you watched the tape from 2014 you have to know that DeAndre has every week WR1 ability. He has the size, speed, and pure hands to produce high end fantasy production week in and week out.
Mike Evans: Mike Evans gets a huge upgrade at QB with Jameis Winston coming to town. We expect Jameis Winston to start Week 1. Expectations should be tempered as Jameis will have some up and downs in his first year. Nevertheless, Mike Evans touchdown ability and his big body allow for him to just dominate opposing cornerbacks.
Charles Johnson: Ok I don’t expect Charles Johnson to put up WR1/High end WR2 numbers, but he should be pretty steady. With Mike Wallace coming to town, I only expect Charles to have more opportunities. Wallace will help take the top off defenses while Charles has the opportunity to be the possession receiver and safety valve for Teddy Bridgewater.
Michael Crabtree: Crabtree had a horrible 2014 season and was a non productive fantasy asset. He gets the opportunity to move across the bay in a prove it contract. If anyone remembers his college days and pre-injury, you know the potential is there and you have to believe Crabtree is out there to prove doubters wrong. The addition of Amari and another year for Carr should be helpful for Crabtree’s fantasy prospects. You can target Crabtree in favorable matchups and get some decent value early on in the season. Keep an eye on him in your watchlist for a value/contrarian fantasy football selection.
Marqise Lee/Allen Robinson: I like the potential value here for these Jags receivers. However, I don’t know which one will be better. The Jags have full confidence in their receivers after not electing to draft a player in the early rounds of the NFL Draft. You should be able to get some good value here.
